Unfortunately, one day in April, 1832, she was travelling to attend to business and her horse lost its shoe and fell, crushing one of her legs beneath. The doctors did all they could to save it, and her, but it was lost to gangrene, and though it was amputated, the illness spread and she died shortly afterward. The loss destroyed her son. |
